1
Family Long Weekend

A reminder that the studio is closed on Saturday, February 14 for Family Long Weekend.
Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

IMPORTANT

There are rescheduled classes on Family Day Monday (Feb. 16). This schedule was sent out a couple weeks ago,
and has been attached in the email as a reminder. These classes are rescheduled due to Melissa’s absence on
January 29, Feb. 2 & 3.

Please notify Melissa by email if your dancer plans on being absent that day:
melissa@themkda.com.

2
Attendance is Crucial

This is a friendly reminder that attendance is VERY IMPORTANT at this time of the year.
Choreographies are being finalized and teachers are starting to POLISH the routines,
which is just as important as learning the choreography.

If a dancer is injured, we ask them to carefully observe class; this means leaving their cell phones in their dance bags!

IMPORTANT

If a student is frequently absent, to a point where they are too far behind, it is to the teacher’s discretion
to decide whether that student will participate in the recital or not.

3
Costume Requirements (Checklist)

As costumes continue to arrive and are being handed out, we want you to keep your eyes open for emails from your child’s teacher.
Teachers will start sending out costume requirements so parents can start getting organized.

In the costume requirements, you will find details on everything about your child’s costume(s) (color of tights, accessories,
alterations that need to be done, special makeup, type of shoes, socks, etc.).

We ask that everything on this checklist be ready by Picture Day (March 27–29, 2026).

IMPORTANT

We cannot release costumes to dancers who have a balance owing on their accounts.
Please make sure to settle your account as soon as possible. Thank you.

4
Picture Day

Picture Day will be March 27–29 at MKDA in Studio A.

5
Trophy Shoppe & Dancewear Store

For all your dancewear needs such as tights, accessories, shoes etc, please visit
The Trophy Shoppe in Schumacher (21 Father Costello Drive) – 705-264-3444.

6
Studio Seamstress

We thank everyone who submitted their child’s measurements; this helped us determine what size to order.
Please keep in mind: costume companies do not provide custom-made costumes. There is a generic measurement guide to follow,
and your child will receive a costume based on their measurements.

In most cases, the costume will fit beautifully, but there is a chance it might be too big or too small.
Be ready for any necessary alterations.

If your child’s costume needs alterations, please call our studio seamstress:
Francine Lauzon at 705-465-8342.

7
Volunteers Needed for Recital

We cannot put on a show of this size without the wonderful help of our dance families!
If you wish to volunteer, please submit the form no later than March 22, 2026:

Volunteer Form

IMPORTANT

We are always in need of group supervisors; however, we cannot always guarantee you will be volunteering with your child’s group.
If you absolutely want to be with your child’s group, we urge you to fill out the form as soon as possible.

Last-minute volunteers will not be accepted because there is a lot of work that goes into organizing 100+ volunteers.
Please respect the March 22 deadline.

8
