1. TERM 1 END DATE & TERM 2 START DATE

Term 1 ends on Saturday, December 6th (at the exception of the “rescheduled classes” held the week of Dec. 8^th – 12^th).

Term 2 starts on Monday, January 12^th 2026.

2. DANCE SCHEDULE FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

Please see attached “RESCHEDULED CLASSES/EXTRA PRACTICE SCHEDULE” REVISION #3. We added regular classes on Friday, December 12^th for all Friday dancers because these students have been affected the most with cancelled classes this term.  We hope that all dancers can make it for their rescheduled class(es).  If your dancer cannot attend these classes, please let the teacher know PRIOR to the class.

 

3. PRACTICING DURING THE HOLIDAYS

All teachers should have uploaded the most recent version of the recital dance onto the MKDA App (or for some of the Competitive groups, you will find the videos on the Messenger Group Chats).  This will help dancers practice during the holidays. We suggest reviewing the videos at least once a week in order to remember the choreography upon return in the New Year.

 

4. MAKEUP FOR COMPETITION & RECITAL

Once again, we are happy to partner up with Stage Beauty Company for all makeup supplies for this year’s recital and competition season. To make sure all makeup kits are delivered prior to picture day at MKDA in March, the deadline to submit all makeup orders will be FRIDAY, JANUARY 23^rd, 2026.  As soon as they provide us with the link to this year’s portal, we will forward that over to you so you can get your orders in.

*All competitive dancers should have the proper color palette and lipstick colors for competition. PLEASE NOTE, we have changed the shade of our red lipstick this year*.

 

5. MKDA CUSTOM NECKLACES FOR CHRISTMAS

Exciting News, MKDA Dancers!
Dubé Engraving and Dubé Designs are thrilled to announce they will be offering custom MKDA pendants this season! These pieces are designed especially for our dancers and make perfect keepsakes or gifts.

We’ve attached the sample deck showcasing the necklace options—gold or silver, various chain styles, and your choice of custom message: This way, you can get a clear idea of what’s available.

Their online site will be ready shortly, and all orders will be placed through the website. Once the site is ready, the link will be shared with you!

Important Order Deadline

To ensure all pendants are created and delivered in time for Christmas, orders must be placed by December 13th. 

 

6. IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER FOR 2026

First day of Term 2:                         Monday, January 12^th, 2026

Family Long Weekend:                    Studio is closed from February 14^th-16^th.

Classes resume on Tuesday, Feb. 17^th.

March Break:                                    Studio is closed from March 14^th-20^th.

There will be classes for the Saturday dancers on March 21^st!! This                  also marks the last day of “regular classes” at the studio.

Stage Rehearsals begin on:              Monday, March 23^rd at École secondaire catholique Thériault auditorium.

Dance Pictures:                                  March 28^th & 29^th at MKDA Studio A.

Dress Rehearsals:                              Tuesday, April 7^th & Wednesday, April 8^th at Thériault auditorium.

Recital 2026:                                      Friday, April 10^th at 6:00pm (Senior Show)

Saturday, April 11^th at 1:00pm (Full Show)

Sunday, April 12^th at 1:00pm (Full Show)

MKDA Year-End Banquet:             Thursday, May 7^th at The Dante Club.
