Dear MKDA Family,

After hearing Ontario’s plan to reopen in stages, weare very sad to announce that MKDA’s year-end recital cannot happen once again this season.  We were hanging on to a thin thread for as long as we could; we were very hopeful that we could finish the season, but the reopening strategy will only allow us to open in late July-beginning of August. We have brainstormed countless ways of coming up with a plan to allow for a show, but every scenario presented more cons than pros.  The health and safety of our dancers has always been #1, and with the rising number of cases in our region, it would be morally wrong to risk the health of our dancers.  Please know, this news was not made lightly:  There were many tears involved and many sleepless nights. We truly tried our best to make this work, but our hands are tied.

At this point, MKDA needs to move forward and look positively to a new season.  We look forward to reopening in September and continuing to inspire our dancers. We want to thank all of our dancers and their families for their continued support and loyalty. Anybody who registered for the 2020-2021 season knew there was a risk, but we are forever thankful that you took that risk and joined us this season.  It is not a lost season:  Our dancers learned much technique, created strong friendships, steady improvements, indelible bonds, an explosion of passion and the learning of amazing dance routines!’ Let’s embrace what we have gotten out of this year and look forward to a successful 2021-2022 season, where there is hope we will be back on that stage that we love so much.

Here are some important points and events; weencourage you to mark these on your calendar:

Refunds

In a typical dance season, there are 24 weeks:  13 weeks in Term 1 and 11 weeks in Term
2.  This year, we were fortunate enough
to complete Term 1 in full.  Term 2 had
its challenges – we were only able to have 6 weeks of classes.  We were 5 weeks away from our year-end
recital.

WE WILL BE GIVING
REFUNDS TO ALL DANCERS FOR THE REMAINING PORTION OF THIS SEASON
.  Please allow us time to do this as this will
be a lengthy process.  Our account
manager will need to go through every dancer’s account and calculate the fees
to give back.  The refund is based on 20%
of the fees paid (5/24) less 5% administration fee for a net refund of 15% plus
HST. We will also be refunding the cost of recital DVD access $22.12 plus HST
for a total of $25.00. IF WE DO NOT HAVE
YOUR BANKING
INFORMATION, PLEASE
CONTACT OUR ACCOUNT MANAGER
(
stephanie@jemsmanagement.com) TO ADVISE WHERE THE REFUND SHOULD GO.
