1. DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION
The last day to register for our 2021-2022 dance season is September 8th. After this date, the online system will shut down.
2. START DATE
Classes start on Monday, September 13th!!! We are confident for a full season! J
We strongly encourage our dancers to get their vaccine in order to protect each other against this virus that has affected all of our lives in the past two seasons.
3. NEW COMPETITIVE TEAM MEMBERS
Any new dancer who wishes to be part of the MKDA competitive team will need to audition virtually. We will be accepting video auditions until August 27th. These videos will be sent to our judges for evaluation.
For questions about the competitive team and on the virtual audition process, please contact Melissa Kelly-Lavoie: firstname.lastname@example.org.
4. PICTURES OF YOUR DANCER
Despite the unfortunate outcome of this season, we want to put a positive twist on it. We would love to receive photos of your dancer in their recital costume(s). Please send all photos to email@example.com. We would like to create a big collage of the 2020-2021 dance season and have it hung up at MKDA along with all the other recital composites. Many parents have enjoyed getting their dancer “ready” for a photoshoot. Have fun with it and be creative! J
***We will be accepting photos up until August 31st.
5. POINTE SHOE FITTINGS & ASSESSMENTS
The week of August 16th, Melissa will be in touch with all dancers registered in Competitive Teen Ballet & Intermediate Ballet in order to book a pointe assessment and a possible pointe shoe fitting. Not ALL dancers registered in these classes will be eligible for the Beginner Pointe class. In order to qualify for the Beginner Pointe class, dancers will have an individual appointment with Melissa Kelly-Lavoie so she may assess the dancer’s overall strength, anatomy, technique and structure of feet. A dancer’s technical abilities are evaluated and it will be a factor in the decision making along with the dancer’s anatomical structure.
If your daughter is not eligible for the Beginner Pointe class, you will be given a refund for this class.
6. COVID-19 STUDIO PROTOCOLS & REGULATIONS
We will be providing this document by the first week in September. We do not want to write our protocols & regulations at this moment since we know our current situation will change come end of August.
This document will outline all regulations including: Observing classes, class sizes, sanitization etc.
