1. DANCE CIRQUE AT MKDA

We are very proud to announce that MKDA is now DANCE CIRQUE certified! We have successfully completed the extensive DANCE CIRQUE certification course!

Congratulations to: Melissa Kelly-Lavoie, Julie Prévost, Melanie Carter, Stephanie Salvati & Jenna Black!

This Australian-based program is one-of-a-kind and will only be available at MKDA. It will be offered full-time starting in the Fall of 2023, but we will be offering package sessions for children to try it out this Winter. If your child loves it, they can register for the full-time class next Fall.

DANCE CIRQUE brings Aerial Silks, Juggling, Strength & Flexibility all in one class!

2. THE NORTH CAN DANCE INTENSIVE by Be Discovered

Friendly reminder that registration is NOW OPEN for the upcoming dance workshop hosted by Be Discovered.

Location of Workshop:  Cedar Meadows

When: October 22^nd & 23^rd

All dancers ages 7+ are invited to participate!

Hoping that many of our dancers participate in this workshop.  We haven’t had a dance workshop come to Timmins in a decade:  It’s TIME!!!

 

3. DANCE DAD’S WANTED!!

MKDA is looking for Dad’s who are willing to bust a move on our stage at the year-end dance recital!! Dancing Daddy’s has always been a big crowd pleaser at our year-end show, but because of COVID, we’ve had to put it on hold…..BUT NOW….the time has come to bring them back!! We hope to get as many names as possible!  Dance Dad practices start on Thursday, November 17^th from 8:45-9:45pm. We will start learning the choreography on November 17^th, so come ready to learn, have fun & sweat!  To give your name, please email Melissa at:  melissa@themkda.com.

4. COSTUME MEASUREMENTS

If you haven’t done so already, we urge you to please send in your child’s measurements no later than October 17^th.  To submit your dancer’s measurements, please visit this link:

5. SANTA CLAUS PARADE SIGN-UP

If you haven’t noticed already, the Santa Claus parade sign-up sheet is up on the entrance cork board.  The parade will be held on Saturday, November 12^th.  Any dancer age 10+ can participate in the dancing portion of the parade – dancing behind our float.  The more the merrier!! When we get closer to the date, we will send more information about attire, dates & times of practices etc.

Seating room on the float is now full (dancers ages 5-9)

6. STAGE BEAUTY MAKEUP

It’s that time of the year again to order your makeup for recital and/or dance competition.  This year, we also added beautiful rhinestone earrings on our portal.  Go ahead and browse, you won’t be disappointed……These kits also make great Christmas gifs!
